The Department of Bible and Church Ministries has a solid commitment to achieving the College’s goal of developing graduates with a Christian world-view. This commitment is expressed through the General Education courses and degrees offered by the Department. The College’s General Education Bible requirements help every student attain a solid foundation for biblical knowledge and Christian faith.
The Department's purpose is to “equip the called.” The degrees are designed to equip leaders to fulfill God’s call on their lives in service to the church. Students electing one of the majors in the Depart ment will complete course work and field experiences that develop the interpretive skills and ministry abilities of the student. Graduates will be prepared for both graduate studies and entering professional ministry positions.
The Department is committed to higher education within mainstream Christianity from an evangelical holiness perspective committed to biblical truth and authority. Students will be encouraged to discover and explore their call and gifts while learning practical skills for effective church leadership as they are challenged to live with integrity.
The Department offers three majors: Biblical Studies and Church Ministry. Minors are offered in Biblical Studies, Church Ministry, Christian Education, Pastoral Studies, Congregational Outreach, Worship Ministry and Missions. The major in Church Ministry, an AA in Church Ministry, and a Certificate in Church Ministry are also offered online.
The Christian Education minor along with the Church Ministry major provides strong preparation for youth ministry. Additionally, Warner University is an official member of the Youth Specialties Academic Support Network. Visit the Youth Specialties website at www.youthspecialties.com to learn more about this academic affiliation.
