An introduction to the accounting process from transactions through financial statements. Emphasis is placed on joumal entries, including adjustments and closing entries. Special journals and subsidiary ledgers are also examined. Concentrates mainly on accounting for a sole proprietorship.
ACC 2052 Principles of Managerial Accounting (3) - Offered: Spring
An introduction to managerial accounting concepts including financial statement analysis, job order and process costing systems, cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting, variances, etc. Prerequisite; ACC 2051.
ACC 3025 Survey of Accounting (3) - Offered: On Demand
A concise overview of the fundamental theories of managerial and financial accounting. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive perspective of the accounting field. Topics will include costing, budgeting, and the accounting framework. Offered on demand as an MBA prerequisite.
ACC 3150 Intermediate Accounting I (3) - Offered: Fall
An in-depth examination of the accounting process and financial statements. Builds on concepts introduced in Principles of Financial Accounting by considering more advanced topics with a more report-oriented approach. Prerequisite; ACC 2052.

A continuation of ACC 3150, providing an in-depth examination of the accounting process and financial statements. As with ACC 3150, topics are considered with a more report-oriented approach. Prerequisite; ACC 3150.
ACC 3073 Individual Income Tax (3) - Offered: Sprlng
An introduction to Federal income tax law and procedure pertaining to individuals, including income recognition, income character, deductions, credits, gains and losses, and alternative minimum tax.
ACC 3074 Corporate Income Tax (3) - Offered: Fall
An introduction to Federal income tax law and procedure pertaining to corporations, partnerships, S corporations, estates, and trusts. Includes an overview of the Federal Unified Transfer (estate and gift) Tax.
ACC 3083 Accounting for Decision Making (3) - Offered: Fall

An introduction to marketing and to the development of marketing strategy, including product, price, promotion, and place in today's business world. Discusses the decision areas in marketing and how to utilize marketing concepts to make business decisions. Prerequisite: BUS2000 or departmental approval.
BUS 3015 Personal Finance (3) - Offered: On Demand
This course prepares the student to manage their own financial affairs and examines such topics as career strategies, money management, tax strategies, credit acquisition and management, housing, insurance, investing, and retirement planning.
BUS 3020 Operations Management (3) - Offered: Fall
Management of operations, with emphasis on planning, forecasting, scheduling, inventory control, facilities management, and quality control. Some interface with operations research methods will be conducted with respect to production type problems, planning, and scheduling with selected topics in operational research. Prerequisites: BUS 3090 or MAT 1040.
BUS 3025 Managerial Communication (3) - Offered: Every Semester
This course is designed to provide instruction and practice in business and professional communication settings. Elements of this course will bring to light communication situations and techniques for addressing those circumstances with effective communication. Skill development in the use of a variety of communication tools, particularly speaking and writing, will occur in the context of simulated work situations. Prerequisite: ENG 1020.

This course addresses the total marketing communications function. Discusses the importance of integrated marketing communications (IMC) and provides coverage of: advertising, sales promotion, public relations/publicity, direct response and interactive advertising, and personal selling, Prerequisite: BUS 3010.

This course is designed to teach basic skills in descriptive and univariate statistics, with some consideration given to certain multivariate techniques. Experience in collecting and organizing data and drawing conclusions on the data are emphasized. All statistics will be taught from a business perspective. Also offered on demand as an MBA prerequisite. Prerequisite: MAT 1030 or higher.
BUS 3150 Management Science (3) - Offered: Spring
An introduction to the application of the scientific approach to managerial decision-making. This course is designed to give the student a study ofthe quantitative methods used in solving business problems. The student is expected to formulate problems for computer-based solutions to operations, finance, and marketing problems of organizations. Prerequisite: MAT 1030 or MAT 1040.

A course designed to teach the principles of financial management, analysis of balance sheets and income statements, capital markets, sources of capital funds, the time value of money, and the interpretation of future cash flows. Prerequisites: MAT 1030 or MAT 1040.

Even years A continuation of Managerial Finance, emphasizing the relationship between risk and return, the cost of acquiring capital for a firm, capital structure decisions, and other miscellaneous topics. Prerequisite: BUS 3160.

An introduction to computer software programs and techniques for the business environment, including business forms, business plans, etc. Prerequisite: BUS 2000.

This course provides the student with an overview of money markets in the U. S. and with a general introduction to financial institutions and financial instruments. Current and future trends of the global financial system are also examined.
BUS 4310 Negotiation (3) - Offered: Fall
This course examines the art and science of negotiation. Students will engage in a number of simulated negotiations ranging from simple one-issue transactions to multi-party joint ventures, such as collective bargaining. Through these exercises and associated readings, students explore the basic theoretical models of bargaining and have an opportunity to test and improve their negotiation skills. Prerequisite. At least junior level standing.
BUS 4350 Marketing Research (3) - Offered: Spring
A study of marketing research methods, infonnation systems, and their relationships to strategic marketing, plarming, and problem solving as practiced by the modern market-oriented firm. Prerequisite: BUS 3010 and co or prerequisite BUS3090.
BUS 4450 Leadership in Business (3) - Offered: Every Semester
Students review the major theories of leadership, critically evaluate the defmition and meaning of leadership, developing their own interpretations and defmitions of leadership after learning how others have interpreted and defmed it. They also analyze their own leadership strengths and limitations and engage in activities to improve their leadership skills. Prerequisite: BUS 2000 or department approval.

Even years This course examines analysis and valuation techniques for stocks and bonds, including fundamental analysis, technical analysis, and duration. This course also covers such specialized topics as warrants, puts, calls, mutual funds, international securities markets, real assets, etc.

This course covers strategies and methods for professional and human resource development in organizations by considering processes that will ensure the skills, knowledge, abilities, and perfonnance of employees to meet the current and future needs of the organization and the individual employee.
BUS 4550 Consumer Behavior (3) - Offered: Fall
Analysis of the theories of consumer behavior and their application to marketing decision-making. Psychological, economic, anthropological and sociological perspectives are integrated to enhance understanding of consumer acquisition processes. Prerequisite: BUS3010.
