Formal admission to a major in the Social & Behavioral Science Department should be sought during the Sophomore year. All students who plan to major in History, Psychology, Social Science Education, or Social Work must be admitted to the major by the Social & Behavioral Science Department. Admission is provided through a formal application submitted to the department in the second semester of the Sophomore year. Admission must be granted before more than 12 credit hours or one semester of course work in the major will be approved.

For admission to a major in the department, students will:

  1. Meet admission requirements for Warner University.
  2. Complete the Major Application Form obtained from department faculty.
  3. Complete at least 60 credit hours in the term when application is made.
  4. Complete English composition and college mathematics with a grade of "C" or higher.
  5. Have a cumulative GPA of 2.25 or higher.
  6. If majoring in Social Science Education, must meet the requirements for admission and retention of the Teacher Education Department.
Retention in the History, Psychology, and Social Work majors requires a 2.25 GPA or higher and a grade of "C" or higher in all courses in the major.
