At the recent FFVA Convention held in Naples, Warner University was represented by (pictured left to right) Ryan Williams, Danielle Sprague, Kaylee Norris and George Kirkland.
During their participation in the Produce Market Association Foundation’s Career Pathways Program, our students were placed with industry mentors for three days, allowing them to network with some of the biggest names in the industry, including the lead produce buyer for Sysco Foods, Duda Farms, Primus Food Safety Labs, Taylor Farms, and many more. They also attended FFVA industry sessions, learning about water rights, healthcare implementation and the industry, as well as hearing from Commissioner Adam Putnam. The students also spent a day touring Wedgworth Fertilizer and Farms and Duda Farms’ 23,000 acre citrus/sugarcane/cattle property.
The Director of Agriculture Development, Lauren Cline, noted that several industry members commented on the professionalism, industry knowledge and enthusiasm for learning of our students, as well as their strong value in the practical experience in the industry and inquisitive nature.
Thank you, Mrs. Cline, Danielle, Kaylee, George and Ryan for an outstanding job representing your Warner community!
