02.14.07 - FSC Site Softball Holloman Earns Player of the Week Honors
PORT ORANGE, FL - Senior first baseman Betsy Holloman batted .600 on the week and helped Warner Southern post a 2-2 mark against NCAA DII competition falling to #2 Florida Southern in a doubleheader, while sweeping Eckerd in a pair to earn the first Florida Sun Conference Softball Player of the Week honors of 2007 for the week ending Feb. 11th, conference officials announced today.
Holloman was 6-for-10 at the plate on the week with three doubles, three runs scored, a home run, three runs batted in and had a 1.200 slugging percentage.
08.29.06 - Lake Wales News: August 24, 2006 Athletics Warner Southern Gets New Athletic Director
Warner Southern College has announced that Shawn Gary, a resident of Lake Wales, will be the school's new Atheltic Director. He'll be taking control of an Athletic Department that covers 17 sports and 300 students.
Coach Gary has served since 1999 in various coaching positions. He started at WSC coaching Men and Women's Soccer. Gary also served as the Assistant Coach for Varsity Girl's Softball for two years and took over as head coach for the last five years.
Coach Gary shared his vision for the Athletic Department at Warner, "I would like to see our student athletes as not only athletes, but also examples in the classroom. I want to see the student-athletes as good students, making the right choices, and having character that is pleasing both in athletics and in life. To be able to make the right choices both in school and in life after Warner Southern College. A proactive life style and life skills to live with the body, soul, and spirit."
With this vision, WSC should see exciting things happening in athletics, academics, and enthusiasm within the Atheletic Department this school year.
