Men’s golf team finished in 5th place and Ashley Miller finished 38th at Saint Leo Fall Invitational
SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Warner Southern College men’s golf team finished in 5th place at the Saint Leo Fall Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
The Royals shot 1021 on the par 72 South Course at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club to finish the 54-hole tournament in 5th place. Tournament host Saint Leo University won the event with an 895 score.
Maurice Forde finished as the Royals leader in 26th place with a 252 (85-88-79). Justen Copeland quickly followed landing in the 27th place with a 253 (85-84-84), Allan Johnson finished 28th with a 271 (91-82-98) and Leonardo Placios finished 29th with a 280 (87-93-100). First day Royals leader Erik Taylor withdrew from the final round.
Ashley Miller, the lone representative from the women’s golf team held her own against some strong competition as the majority of the competition were members from NCAA D-II teams. Miller finished 38th in the individual competition with a 270 (87-86-97), the individual medallist was Florida Tech’s Daniela Iacobelli.
The men’s golf team will wrap up its fall schedule at the Mobile Fall Classic Nov.2-4 in Mobile, Ala.

Royals men golf team in fifth place and Ashley Miller in 35th place At Saint Leo Fall Invitational
SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Warner Southern College men’s golf team stands in fifth place after the opening 36 holes of the Saint Leo Fall Invitational on Monday, October 22.
The Royals shot a team score of 660 (331-329) on the par-72 South Course at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. Invitational host Saint Leo University currently leads the pack shooting a 591.
Erik Taylor continues to improve this fall season as he is leading the Royals with a first day score of 149 (74-75), which has him tied for ninth place in the individual competition. Justen Copeland is in 27th place with a score of 169 (85-84) and both Alan Johnson (91-82) and Maurice Forde (85-88) scored a 173 to tie for 30th place. Leonardo Placios rounded out the Royals group with a 180 (87-93) to land in 30th place.
Ashley Miller is the lone representative for the women’s golf team at the event and she is in 35th place in the individual competition with a score of 173 (87-86). Daniela Iacobelli from Florida Tech leads all golfers in the individual competition.
The 54-hole tournament concludes today, October 23, with tee times for the women at 7:30 a.m. and the men at 11:30 a.m
