Warner Alum and Sports Hall of Fame member Ryan Menten (BA ’04) was recently highlighted in the October edition of SLAM, one of the largest and well-known publications for basketball. The article discusses his successful continuation of the basketball company he co-directs, HoopSource.
HoopSource is a national grassroots basketball organization that supports all ages of community participation. Co-founded in 2008 by Ryan Menten, HoopSource Basketball specializes in servicing basketball tournaments, leagues, and events. Based in Portland, OR, they continue to build the brand through various basketball environments, with plans to expand to other cities. His group currently hosts over 10,000 teams a year.
Although he is well established in the northeastern US basketball world, Ryan still looks back on his years at Warner as formative in his Christian walk.
“I have always been able to reflect on my experiences at Warner University both on and off the court as positive re-affirmation of my Christian foundation and strong work ethic to accomplish my goals,” says Ryan Menten. “These experiences continue to help guide me in everyday situations and throughout the basketball experience.”
