Warner University is committed to helping you find options to pay for school. We know the investment you make towards a college degree is important and so we look forward to partnering with you to help make Warner Southern a reality.
Students and their families meet the cost of higher education through a combination of grants, scholarships, loans, employment opportunities, and other sources of aid. The Financial Aid Office administers programs in accordance to federal, state and private agency guidelines as well as funds provided by the College.
GRANTS
Grants are financial aid monies that need not be repaid by the student. Federal and state grants are normally based on a student's financial need or academic merit.
- Federal Pell Grant - A federal grant awarded to undergraduate students demonstrating financial need. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or renewal each year. http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
- Federal supplementary Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) - A federal grant awarded to student with the largest financial need and as long as funds are available. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or renewal each year. http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
- Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG) - The FRAG is for Florida residents enrolled full-time who have maintained residency in Florida for the previous 12 consecutive months and who did not move to Florida to attend a post-secondary school. The amount of the award is determined by the Florida Department of Education. Military assignment personnel are also eligible. Application must be completed by October 1 for fall semester award or February 1 for spring semester award. - Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG) - The FSAG is a need-based grant awarded to Florida residents who enroll full-time. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the renewal FAFSA by May 15. SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are financial aid monies awarded to students on the basis of special ability or merit and do not need to be repaid by the student.
- Bright Futures Scholarship Program - Apply for this Florida state scholarship program while in high school. Students can obtain more information by calling the state hotline at 1-888-827-2004, or on the internet at http://www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org
- WSC Scholarships - are recommended by the WSC admissions counselors to traditional undergraduate students. All scholarships are renewable up to four years for students who remain in good standing and maintain a minimum grade point average 2.0 - View our Scholarship Calculator.
Students in Adult, Evening, Online and Graduate programs have different tuition structures and are not eligible for WSC scholarships. *
LOANS
Loans are money that students borrow to help pay their education costs. In some cases, interest is not charged to students while they are attending college at least halftime. Six months after graduation, repayment and interest charges begin. In other loans, interest payment begins immediately.
- Federal Perkins Loan - Long term, low interest loan available to limited numbers of traditional, undergraduate students proving financial need and "as funds are available" basis. Repayment begins 9 months after borrower ceases to be enrolled on at least a half-time basis. This loan may be canceled for those who engage in certain qualifying positions as outlined in the promissory note. Contact Financial Aid Office for information.
- Federal Parental Loan to Undergraduate Students (PLUS )- Long term, low interest loans borrowed through private lenders, with payments beginning immediately. The monthly payment schedule is usually affordable, depending on the amount borrowed and the length of the repayment period. Learn how to apply at: ../financialsvc/loans.asp
- Federal Stafford Loan - This is a long term, low interest loan borrowed through private lenders. Repayment begins 6 months after borrower ceases to be enrolled on at least a half-time basis. Must complete the FAFSA to determine eligibility for subsidized funds. Learn how to apply at: ../financialsvc/loans.asp

**Additional Unsubsidized Stafford available only to Independent students or Dependent students whose parents have been denied for a PLUS loan.
Cumulative total for undergraduate study:
- Subsidized Federal Stafford loans - $23,000 (independent and dependent students)
- Independent students may be eligible for an additional $23,000 in unsubsidized loans
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITES
Employment Opportunities are available to students to work at jobs on campus and in the community.
- Federal College Work Study - A campus work program partially funded by the federal government. Awards are made to students based on financial need. Students apply by completing the FAFSA.
- Part-Time Employment - Other than the Federal College Work-Study Program, employment opportunities are available with the College and in the Greater Lake Wales business community. Employment help is available through the Student Life Office.
OTHER SOURCES OF AID
- Tax Relief Act 1997 - This act provides taxpayers two new nonrefundable tax credits for payments made for qualified tuition and related expenses (tuition, and fees, but not books) for post-secondary education - the HOPE scholarship Credit and the Lifetime Learning Credit. - Veteran's Affairs Benefits - Warner University has been approved by the Florida State Approving Agency to award veteran's educational benefits. Contact the Financial Aid Office for information or visit the Veteran's Benefits page.
