The chapter shall have one graduate adviser who is the previous year ending chapter President. It is the responsibility of the graduate advisor to notify and provide the current year Secretary with an up-to-date address. The graduate advisor shall not retain the veto powerunless the current year Secretary has received this contact information.

The graduate advisor shall have veto power over changes to the Bylaws. In the event that the board of directors shall alter, amend, or repel these Bylaws or adopt new Bylaws, the graduate advisor will be mailed a copy of the revised Bylaws. If there is no immediate written response, a second attempt shall be made by registered mail no less than one (1) week after the first attempt is mailed. If there is still no written response within one week, a presumption of assent shall be entered into the minutes. If there is a veto, the board of directors may override the veto by a vote of three-fourths (3/4) to pass the amendment.

The graduate adviser shall support the existence of the chapter as arepresentative of the school, be a consistent contact for the chapter with the ability to identify active members, have a general idea about chapter eventsand activities, and be available to give advice.
