School of Education - History
Thank you for your interest in the history major. Our courses instruct students in historical methods and practices and include such subjects as U.S. and world history, historical research and writing as well as a detailed knowledge of religious history, European history and other specialized topics.
Our students typically have an interest in current affairs and history, and seek an in-depth knowledge of the world's cultures, politics and social settings. History is more than knowledge of the past; it is about preparing the world for the future.
Our history major students acquire skills that will prepare them for advanced studies in the liberal arts and teaching on all levels, and will also enable them to conduct research, writing and critical analysis. A history major prepares students for a variety of opportunities in law, politics, archiving, research/archivist/librarian, journalism, teaching and many more. A major in history can open doors for you in any career you choose.
I'd like to invite you to call Dr. Jim Holton at 638.7267 or e-mail me at james.holton@warner.edu to discuss your future as a history major.
