School of Education - Sport Management
Thank you for your interest in the Sport Management major. Our students are often students who have been involved in a variety of sports activities and desire to study the organizational and business aspects of the athletic, recreation, and sports environments.
The major in sport management is designed to prepare students for a career in sports-oriented organizations, recreation industries, or who intend to continue graduate studies in areas such as sport psychology, sport business management, and administration.
Sport management is an interdisciplinary major offering a broad-based curriculum in sports, management, event and activity planning, sales and promotion, marketing, communication, law, and the financial aspects of sport.
Sport management students study the role of sports in society, the role of management in sports, and have opportunities to observe and apply their knowledge in practicum and internship experiences.
If you would like to speak with someone personally about the Sport Management major, please feel free to contact one of the sport management professors including Mr. Shawn Gary and Mr. Jeff Sikes.
