School of Ministry, Arts & Sciences - Media Writing
Thank you for your interest in the Communication Arts Department where students are offered three majors: communication, media writing, and English. All three majors are designed to prepare students for the careers they anticipate. Each major is designed to be flexible, yet directed to meet the individual needs of our students.
Students in the COMARTS majors find the courses to be challenging, yet rewarding; demanding, yet achievable; focused, yet flexible; and informative, yet engaging. The faculty are knowledgeable in their fields, bringing academic and professional experiences into the classroom.
Students should expect to be challenged to achieve excellence in their work, yet encouraged to be independent in their approach to being prepared for the challenges that lay before them. The underlying goal is to prepare students to be academically malleable, making them marketable in unlimited areas of professional employment.
As the chair of the Communication Arts Department, I encourage you to give thought to the career goals you have at the moment and consider this notion: those perceived to be successful are, for the most part, effective communicators. The faculty in the COMARTS department believe that an effective communicator can make a difference in any chosen field.
