How do I get a bar code number/student ID?

• For non-traditional students, the bar code is issued at registration.
• For non-traditional students who miss registration, a link is provided in the Virtual Classroom at the top of every class labeled Access to Databases. Click on the link for the bar code.
• For Online Church Ministry (OCM) students, go to Online Church Ministry Grand Central, scroll down to Pontious Learning Resource Center Online Resources, the information is listed under Databases.
• Things to consider before calling the University for the database access barcode number:
  • The number is issued on an information sheet entitled Pontious Learning Resource Center Online Resources and Services that is distributed during orientation, in the first class session. See if you can locate this sheet.
  • Students in the Lake Wales group are issued a picture ID with the bar code on the back during registration. See if you can locate this card.
  • When you find the bar code number, make sure only the first nine digits are entered in the password prompt. Some databases require "warner" or "warneru" (lower case) to be entered in the username.
  • If you lose this number, you may call the LRC and a staff member will give you the number one time only after verification of enrollment.

How do I access the LRC online resources?

• The first nine digits of the LRC bar code are used to access the LRC online commercial databases.
• Some databases require warner or warneru (lower case) to be entered in the Username before entering the LRC Bar Code in the Password.

How to troubleshoot problems.

Having difficulty with getting into some of the LRC online resources after entering the correct bar code numbers and Username? The cache on your personal computer may need to be cleaned.

• If you are using Internet Explorer as your browser, go to TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS, click on DELETE FILES under Temporary Internet Files, and click on CLEAR HISTORY under History.
• If you are using Netscape as your browser, go to EDIT, PREFERENCES, ADVANCED (under Category), click on CACHE, click on CLEAR MEMORY CACHE, and click on CLEAR DISK CACHE.
