To all Warner students, faculty and staff,
We continue to carefully monitor the progress of Hurricane Irma. Please know that our top priority is the safety of the entire Warner community. At this time, we have the following updates:
- All classes at the Lake Wales campus are cancelled for Friday, September 8 and Monday, September 11.
- Online classes will continue as scheduled.
- All scheduled events and practices are cancelled for Friday, September 8 through Monday, September 11.
- Food service will still be provided for those living on campus.
- See the sections below for additional pertinent information
We are asking all residential students to complete a brief questionnaire called My Irma Plan. This will help us know of your intentions, whether you plan to remain on or leave campus. You can do this online at http://warner.formstack.com/forms/my_irma_plan, through Royal Services, or with your RA/RD. It is important that we know your intentions during these days as we make preparations. We will be providing further instructions for those who remain on campus regarding shelter and other safety precautions.
Faculty and Staff:
Though all classes are cancelled for Friday, September 8 and Monday, September 11, we are considering the option of having faculty and staff host one or more students. In the event that we pursue this option, this will be coordinated through the Business Office. If you are interested, please contact Mike Picha at extension 7217 or firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate your preference for number and gender of students. We will keep you posted on this option.
Though classes are cancelled on Friday, at this time we are planning to remain open for business as we need to continue to monitor Irma, prepare as best we can, and serve our students well. No decision has been made at this time regarding next week. If your intention is to be absent on any day, we ask that you notify your supervisor as soon as possible so that we can fill in any potential service gaps.
Students, faculty and staff:
It is critical that the entire community continue to look for updates. If you have not yet provided your cell phone number and email to Campus Safety and Security, please do this immediately (email@example.com or extension 7232) as this will be an important link in this communication. As we monitor Irma, more updates will be provided on any or all of these matters. Please join us in prayer for our entire community and for all of those who are impacted by Irma.
