Campus Safety & Security

Warner Southern College strives to provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Department of Campus Safety and Security encourages and solicits the assistance and cooperation of the entire campus community in our attempt to make the campus a safe place to work, live, and play.

Parents always have concerns about the safety of their students attending college, especially if the student is far from home. Warner Southern College understands that concern. The goal of the Department of Campus Safety and Security is to enable our students to enjoy their years at Warner Southern as free as possible from threats to their safety and wellbeing. While the campus is certainly not crime-free, those crimes reported have been relatively few and usually minor in nature.

Throughout the year Campus Safety and Security monitors the security climate nationwide and globally to facilitate any updates needed in our own Security policies. This year was no exception. Briefly,

  • We have focused on improved communication to all members of the College community.
  • Updated the Emergency Response Manual.
  • Improve communication with the Dean of Students regarding various student issues.
  • Familiarize and test action plans.
  • Participate in a monthly Security meeting with the College President.

Below, you will find the updated Security handbook which contains information on several subjects as well as our crime statistics as required by the Jeanne Clery Act (www.securityoncampus.org). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 863-638-7232.
