Publix Super Markets Charities has been in existence since 1967. The foundation was established by George Jenkins, the founder of Publix, to support and improve life in the Publix communities. Publix Supermarkets are highly visible in communities throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and now expanding into Virginia.
Warner University has been the recipient of grant funds from Publix Super Markets Charities for more than 28 years. Their recent 2015 gift of $7,000 towards student scholarships continues this tradition.
The most visible and highly trafficked area is the Publix Super Markets Charities classroom in the Pontious Learning Resource Center. Classes are held from early morning to well into the evening in this spacious classroom. Publix Super Markets Charities is also visible on donor plaques in the Rigel Student Center and in the PLRC. Their generous support aided the development of the Men’s and Women’s Soccer fields, but the greatest impact has been in the area of student scholarships. The Publix Super Markets Charities scholarship gifts have allowed Warner to give current students academic merit scholarships.
Warner University would like to recognize Publix Super Markets Charities for the significant support they have given to the university over the years. Our local Publix supermarket stores have also assisted Warner on many occasions by donating food items for various events.
Warner University is grateful for Publix Super Market Charities and their philosophy of supporting many organizations in the community, and we are honored to be chosen as one of them.
