The first step is to enroll in WSC2080 PLA Orientation which is offered online each semester. During the course you can receive guidance on how to translate what you already know into college credit. Credit can be evaluated two ways:

  • Section I: Professional and Technical Training.
These are usually certified learning experiences for which the student has not received college credit.
  • Section II: Life-Learning Essays.
This is also called a Prior Learning Experience (PLA) Portfolio. The Life-Learning Essay identified and documents the areas of college-level learning (describing and documenting both knowledge and skill) and serves as a petition for credit.

Both section I and II of PLA are addressed during the online class WSC2080.
