With a total of seven projects including painting the exteriors of the house dorms, washing windows, adding mulch, doing paint touch ups in the Darby building, and painting the Pontious Learning Resource Center offices and Academic Skills Center, more than 50 faculty and staff members worked hard to get the school in top shape for the students’ return at the end of August.

After the success of the first Work Day on June 14, it was immediately decided by President Hoag that a second Work Day would be in effect. The Warner Work Day was modeled after the “Warner Cares Day”, where Warner serves the community.  The cabinet discussed doing the same kind of event on campus to serve our students and each other.  Bill Brown and Greg Rodden coordinated the projects.

“Everyone was willing to have it happen again in the future whether it was participating or allowing others to enjoy the experience,” said VP for Finance and Business Greg Rodden.

The idea behind this event originated in a President’s Cabinet Meeting, followed by a walk through of the campus by the Administration making notes along the way of areas that needed some hands-on attention.

Now that the second Warner Work Day has been completed, the President’s Cabinet will meet again to go over the progress and plan accordingly for the third day in August.
