Social Work Program Director Nancy Anderson along with four Warner students attended the 2016 Child Protection Summit in Orlando Sept. 7-9.

Secretary of Department of Children and Families Mike Carroll opened their session with an inspiring, but also sad and thought-provoking message.

Josh Shipp, Teen Advocate, Author, TV Host, and former foster youth, presented his message that “every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story”.

They attended many workshops, had a chance to network with service providers, and enjoyed spending time together.

The Summit ended with a presentation by a Compassion Fatigue Specialist, a topic very important for those working in the field of child welfare.
