The Warner University softball team and coaches served at the Lake Wales Care Center on October 24th.
They assisted bringing shelves and ladders down a flight of stairs by using an assembly line.
After loading them all on a trailer they went to the Care Center Christmas store to unload. This Christmas store gives lower income families a chance to provide for their kids for the holidays.
On November 6th, the ladies served at “Give Kids the World” in Kissimmee, Florida. As a team, they served a breakfast consisting of waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, and oatmeal at Nancy’s Kitchen to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. This is a place where they are treated to week-long, cost-free vacations.
Their volunteering assignment consisted of serving families by passing out drinks, walking trays to tables, cleaning the dishes, busing tables, checking families in to the dining hall, etc.
“This experience made us take a step back and realize how blessed we truly are to be able to help kids and families that are struggling in rough times,” said head coach Katie Clemente.
“We plan to serve again during our spring season at Give Kids the World.”
