E-mail Intro Outlook 2007 Setup

1. Open Thunderbird and go to Tools --> Account Settings....

2. Click on the "Add Account" button.

3. Choose E-mail Account.

4. Enter your Full Name and Email Address.

5. Select POP as the type of incoming server your are using and :

  • Incoming Server: mail.warner.edu
  • Check Use Global Inbox
  • Outgoing Server: mail.warner.edu
  • Click Next.

6. Enter the username portion of your e-mail address (everything before the @warner.edu) and click Next.

7. Enter the name by which you would like to refer to the account in Firefox. Most people would just use the actual e-mail address.

8. Click Finish

9. On the left side, under your e-mail account settings, select Server Settings and enter the following information:

  • Server Name: mail.warner.edu
  • Port: 995
  • Username: the user part of your e-mail address - the first part of you e-mail address (everything before the @ symbol)
  • Under Security Settings:
    • Select SSL
  • Under Server Settings, we recommend the settings show below.

10.On the left side, select Outgoing Server (SMTP)

  • Select the mail.warner.edu server and click on Edit.

11. Enter the following:

  • Settings
    • Port: 465
  • Security and Authentication
    • Check "Use name and password"
    • Enter your User Name (the user part of your e-mail address - the first part of you e-mail address (everything before the @ symbol)
    • Select SSL
    • click OK

12. When you get the Internet Security Warning about the security certificate, select "Accept this certificate permanently" and the click OK..
