Warner University invites applications for the position of Vice-President and Academic Dean.
Warner University, founded in 1968 by the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) is a co-educational, Christian University in the liberal arts tradition. Warner University serves traditional and non-traditional students through site-based and distance learning programs. The University has 29 majors and offers seven degrees: Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts in Education, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Science in Management. The University has established a reputation for academic excellence and has earned recognition in U.S. News and World Report's "America's Best Colleges" as one of the best regional liberal arts colleges in the south for campus diversity and for a low student/teacher ratio.
Position: The Vice-President and Academic Dean will serve as the Chief Academic Officer for the university and will report to the President. This position is accountable for providing department oversight of the Academic Skills Center, Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness, the Learning Resource Center, and Instructional Technology Services-Academic. The Deans of the School of Ministry, Arts & Science, School of Education, and School of Business report to the Vice-President and Academic Dean.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate Degree from a regionally accredited institution
- A record of excellence in teaching, research and service in a higher education setting at the rank of associate or full professor
- 5 years of administrative leadership experience in a higher education setting
- Experience with distance learning programs
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience of working effectively with a diverse body of students, faculty, and staff in a higher education setting
- Must possess excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills in the area of creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, group planning, and decision-making processes
- Be proficient in the use of computer applications
- Ability to effectively present information to students, faculty, staff, community organizations, the President, and/or the Board
- Demonstrated understanding of the student recruitment and retention process
- Demonstrated competency in building and analyzing student recruitment-related data
- Knowledge and ability to recruit, hire, train, and retain qualified faculty
- Knowledge of the general operation and fundamental purposes of a university library
- Understand curriculum development and possess the ability to assess the appropriateness of course substitutions and equivalencies
- Be student-focused, understand teaching and learning, support the use of technology in the delivery of instruction as well as understand the challenges that faculty and students face in its implementation
- Demonstrated experience in conducting faculty performance appraisals
- Demonstrate knowledge and good judgment in matters of college policy and procedures.
- Possess budget and fiscal management skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret accreditation criteria, state agency regulations, legislative and statutory regulations, student rights and regulations, academic journals, and business reports
