Study Skills: General Information
Home » Student Services » Academic Skills Center - Study Skills: General Information
One of the largest concerns that a student may have in college is, "How can I become a better student." This is something that can only be accomplished by learning some fundamental skills, and being motivated to change your habits. These basic skills include:
- Self-Assessment Checklist for Effective Papers
- Avoiding Study Traps
- Exam Preparation
- Reading Skills
- Effective Notetaking
- Reducing Test Anxiety
- Improving Your Study Habits
- Time Management
While none of these will guarantee perfection, they can help you become a more efficient student. To learn more about each subject, stop into the ASC for a personal tutoring session, or take some time to read our online handouts that may be accessed by following the links above, or to the left.

ON WINGS LIKE EAGLES
“Those who hope in the Lord shall renew their strength, They will walk and not grow weary, they will run and not be faint, they will soar on wings like eagles.” Isaiah 40:31
TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE
"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up the other; but woe to the one who is alone and falls, and does not have another to help him up." Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
