Reflection: Montego Bay, Jamaica
Eleven students and four chaperons went to Montego Bay, Jamaica on the Star
Throwers 2001 Spring Break trip. The team worked in two orphanages, a girl's home, an
infirmary, and a high school painting playing with children, feeding babies, and sharing the
word of God. The group also spoke and sang in church services and participated in a
harvest festival in which the people of the town bring fruits of their labor to the church and
present it to God.
Kareen Pickett, one of the chaperons on the trip said, "As a group we played games, shared
devotions, sang, prayed, laughed and cried together, we were an awesome team." The team also
got a chance to see sites like Dunn's River Falls and go snorkeling.
