Warner Southern Wins School Spirit Challenge
In January, Webber International University challenged Warner Southern College to a school spirit competition. The competition was simple – which school could make the longest spirit chain. The unveiling of the spirit chain would be revealed at the Warner Southern College women’s basketball game.Spirit Links were purchased across each campus over a two week period. Warner Southern sold yellow links and Webber International sold green links. Students were able to write messages on their links to personalize them.
The links were assembled into a chain and each school’s chain was measured before the start of the basketball game. For the second year in a row Warner Southern won the spirit chain challenge and, more importantly, bragging rights, too!
The money from the challenge will be used for improvements to the Student Union Building. These improvements will be based on marketing and promotional advertising strategies developed by students in Professor Melodi Guilbault’s classes. Organizers of the spirit challenge were Warner Southern’s Professor Guilbault and Webber International University’s Dr. Kelly Wolfe.
