Warner University’s baseball team put on a baseball clinic on January 16 for kids ages 7-12 at Barnes and Barranco Field Little League Complex.
72 kids came out to the free clinic taught by Warner Baseball’s head coach, Jeff Sikes and his players. The kids were treated to free hot dogs and snacks afterwards.
“I always find it interesting that any time our guys do something that involves teaching or mentoring kids in some way, that in serving it becomes our players who seem to be enriched by and enjoy the experience at least as much as the children they are working with,” Sikes said. “This clinic was no exception.”
Senior Cal Sanelli and Freshman Zach Balogh spoke about their faith at the clinic as well.
“The camp was a great chance for us to teach the kids basic baseball fundamentals, spread the gospel in a way that connects with the kids, and bring them closer to the Lord,” Sanelli said.
The clinic was done through First Baptist Church of Lake Wales.
