While on their Spring Tour of the southern states, the Anderson University Chorale made their scheduled stop at Lake Wales Church of God on March 12 and were joined by the Warner University Choir for an evening of worship and song.
“I loved coming together with a new group of people and being united by the language of music,” said Warner’s Choir member Kaylee Shulze. “I think it was a great experience for both choirs.”
Because Anderson University is the sister school of Warner, plans were discussed several years ago by Anderson University’s Director of Choirs Dr. Richard Sowers and Warner University’s Instructor in Worship and Music and Director of Choral Music Dana Hofstrom about having the two choirs and universities come together.
“These two sister universities put on an incredible performance and it was a wonderful night,” said audience member and Warner student Austin Shaner.
The concert was a little over an hour and fifteen minutes, and some of the evening’s songs included “John the Revelator” arrangement by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory, “Were You There” by Jay Rouse, and “I Thank You God” by Eric Whitacre.
Congratulations to both choirs on a spectacular event!
