Join us for a special scholarship competition! On January 29-30, 2021, Warner University will host our 2nd Annual Royal Cup, an academic scholarship competition.  We want to see what makes our students unique, special and how they would make a difference at Warner University.  Students will submit a resume, two letters of recommendation, and write an essay on what makes them unique. During our event, students will have formal interviews with faculty and staff along with writing a 500-word essay (Prompt provided when students arrive).  After all of our planned events during the weekend, we will pick the top 10 finalists along with the top scholar.

To attend the Royal Cup you must have Applied to Warner University, also you must meet ONE of the following:
3.5 cumulative GPA
ACT score of 23+ 
SAT score of 1130+ or higher
Be in the Top 15% of your Graduating Class 
If your GPA or test scores are lower, you still can apply – convince us you deserve to compete!


Who is eligible?

High-achieving high school seniors, graduating in 2021. (Not for Transfer Students)

What criteria will be considered for those who will receive Royal Cup scholarships?

Selection of scholarship recipients will be based on rankings within these criteria:

Professional Interview: During the Royal Cup event, each contestant will be interviewed by members of Warner faculty, who will evaluate their impact on the Warner community and what it means to be a Royal.

Essay: Submit a 500-word essay during the Royal Cup weekend:

What attire is appropriate for the two days?

The first day you may dress in casual attire. Students will be expected to wear business professional attire for their interview.

Can family members come with me?

Yes! Parents are encouraged to attend Friday to learn more about Warner and for the Friday night dinner. Saturday, there will be no programming for parents. Parents will need to book their own lodging. There are several hotels in the area for families.

Can transfer students compete? No, only students applying as freshman for Fall 2021 are eligible to compete. Transfer students will have their own Royal Cup.

Is there any cost?

There is no charge for this event. All of the food and lodging for students will be covered.

Will I receive anything for participating?

Warner University will give every student who attends a $52,000 four-year renewable scholarship, ($13,000 per year). Students who finish in the top ten will receive a $60,000 four-year renewable scholarship, ($15,000 per year).  The top scholar will be awarded one full-tuition scholarship, (valued at $94,000 over four-years).

What is the schedule for the weekend?

The Royal Cup event will begin on Friday, January 29th. Friday will have a campus tour, time to meet current students, faculty, and staff. There will be a banquet on Friday evening for you and your family with our Warner Faculty.  Friday evening, we will also have a social event that will allow you to get to know some of our students. The interviews will take place Saturday morning. You will receive your individual interview time when you arrive on campus Friday.

What do I need to prepare before I arrive?

The following items must be submitted by no later than January 26, 2021 at 11:59pm: Resume, two letters of recommendation and a personal essay. Late submissions will NOT be accepted.

When will the Royal Cup recipients be announced?

We will announce the winners approximately 10 days after the event. All recipients will receive a letter from the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Gentry Sutton, with the results.

What are the requirements for maintaining the scholarships?

Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA to remain eligible for renewal each year.

All scholarships will be added to each student’s financial aid award.
